International calls at National rates

If you make international calls and are fed up paying through the nose then this service will interest you. There are no accounts to open and you keep your existing telephone number. Put simply, the way you make international calls is to dial a 'national rate' number and then your international number - you just pay the 'national rate' for your international call. If you are using BT together option 1,2,or 3, you can make international calls for FREE. The number to call is 0870 794 0704 (weekdays) and 0844 570 0704 (weekends). Using this facility you can make calls to all these destinations:

You can also you this facility from your mobile phone - some service plans allow calls to these numbers from within your inclusive minutes. Orange (not YourPlan) treats calls to 0870 numbers as standard call that qualifies for free minutes. O2 treats a call to 0870 and 0844 as a normal call which qualify for bundled free minutes. Vodafone treats calls to 0870 as normal call and qualify for free minutes as well if you are on ANYTIME or DAYTIME tariffs. Please double check with your service provider before you make any international call. Please make sure that if you use a mobile do not press the call button on your mobile phone after you have entered your destination number,  just wait to get connected. 

For convenience, you can store the access number on your mobile phone. There are two ways to do this: you can either save the number into the phone book on your phone in the normal way, or you can edit the numbers in your phone book to include the access number in the phone book entry:

On a Nokia phone

1. Enter number 0870 794 0704.
2. Press * three times to show p (this adds a pause).
3. Enter your destination number including the full international code.		 On a Siemens or Panasonic phone

2. Press and hold 0 to show + (this adds a pause).
3. Enter your destination number including the full international code.		 On an Erickson or Motorola phone

1. Enter number 0870 794 0704.
2. Press and hold * to show p (this adds a pause).

Note: You can have BT advise you how much a call cost by using this code - *40*TelephoneNumber# - when your call is finished BT phones you with an approximation of the cost of the call. The service is free.
